I try to keep my carb intake very low and my protein intake moderately high, which is difficult since I choose to eat neither red meat nor poultry. These puddings are an excellent source of protein [20 g/can, which is one serving] and have only 1 carb gram per serving. Vanilla Cupcake is my favorite flavor. The pudding also comes in chocolate and banana cream. It is also marketed under the brand name, Instone, which is available in the Amazon Grocery as well.

This pudding tastes identical to Stallone’s Instone brand, though it sells for a lot less. Just like Instone, this has 100 calories, and 20 grams of protein. It’s creamy and very good!

I’ve tried the chocolate, as well, and although I almost always prefer chocolate to other flavors, the vanilla is actually better tasting than chocolate, but the chocolate is good, too, though not quite as flavorful.

Although the Instone banana flavor is the best tasting in my opinion, the Snack & Slim appears to be identical except for the label at only two thirds the cost, so it is really hard to beat. I am on a reduced calories low cholesterol diet, and this pudding is a great way to get some healthy soy protein as well as calcium without a lot of calories. I enjoy both the vanilla and chocolate flavors. I have given it to friends and some love it and some hate it, so it just depends on the individual. Probably a slight sucralose (splenda) aftertaste, although I don’t notice it. I love this stuff and am hooked.

It took just a few cans to get used to because of the soy base and how thick it is, but i really do like this stuff. I just ordered another case and put it on auto delivery which brings the cost down to about a buck a can. Pretty good for 20G’s of protein @ 100 calories. Great protein in a pinch, satisfying my chocolate urges. I recommend this especially to those that are trying to keep up their protein intake.

I love desserts so after reading a couple of reviews about this protein pudding, I was all excited to try it. Now I’m trying to give this stuff away. I do think that it is better at room temperature than cold. The flavor reminded me of sweetened glue (come one we’ve all tried glue as kids; right?) I do not like it at all. It was also pricey and the amount is such that I’ll be sneaking it to leave at friend’s houses for awhile.
