Bliss Trailer

In Theaters August 7. ABOUT THE FILM: Based on the internationally acclaimed novel by Zülfü Livaneli and set against the backdrop of Turkeys natural wonders, Bliss is an eye-opening story about the taboo subject of honor killings. When 17-year-old Meryem is found disheveled and unconscious by the side of a lake in the countryside, her family believes the worst that her chastity has been lost. They turn to the ancient principle of tore, a strict moral code that condemns Meryem to death. The duty of upholding the familys honor falls upon a distant cousin, Cemal, who has just completed a brutal tour in the military. Together they embark on a surprising journey across traditional and modern-day Turkey in this unforgettable film.

This movie is so good! I can’t believe how much I enjoyed it (especially since I had to read subtitles.) I wish there were more like this!! Murat Han is so good in this!

I have to agree that this movie was amazing… I don’t think the trailer really does it justice. There is a real depth to the characters and the movie really takes you on the journey. The scenes are incredibly artistic as well. The movie is a lot more uplifting than I expected and it’s easy to get drawn into the story. I watched it twice and got even more out of the story the second time (probably because I’m not that familiar with the culture & I focussed more on the subtitles the first time:)
