Interview with rap artist turned Muslim A growing number of rap artists are leaving the bad boy hip hop lifestyle for a more spiritual one. The Canadian Dawah Association says that an increasing number of rappers this year have embraced Islam or acknowledged they had in the past. Amir Junaid Muhadith, better known by his stage name, Loon, talks to The Deen Show about his spiritual journey. www.islaam.ca Amir Junaid Muhadith (born Chauncey Lamont Hawkins, June 20, 1975) better known by his stage name Loon, formerly an African-American rapper who was part of P. Diddy’s Bad Boy Records. Amir (Loon) accepted Islam in Dec. 2008 whilst on tour in Dubai, UAE. His inspiring story of rising up from the ghettos of Harlem, NY to street-hustling and later making it in to the rap game and eventually realising the truth of Islam and becoming Muslim, is quite a story. Amir never attained true personal fulfilment despite enjoying the pinnacle of material life (wealth, success and fame), no matter how hard he strove, he couldnt attain that inner peace that can only be realised by submitting to ones Lord, living for the hereafter and not the present life, the complete contentment of believing in, worshipping and supplicating to the Lord of the worlds, practising the beautiful religion of Islam.

True. Jesus said In John 14:21 “He that has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves me: and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” Christians are to believe in Jesus and to live a life modeled by Him through faith. People often complain about God not moving in their lives. More often than not its because they want God to move on their terms and don’t uphold their end of what God’s Word says we are to do. Pretty selfish.

Wearing certain out fits doesn’t get you to heaven nor does worshiping in your church or temple… or whatever. Salvation starts with faith…. then confessing ur a sinner… then God saving you. Then are you saved. The reason why gestures don’t save ppl is the fact that ppl can just be doing them cuz their religion says they are supposed to or they won’t be excepted…. but nine times outta ten there’s no principal behind it, just doing a bunch of stuff…. so it’s the belief in God himself.
Lol good question…… religion is so idiotic to me…. don’t get get me wrong i’m not an athiest I believe in God i’m a Christian, but to be a Christiam doesn’t mean to follow a set of rules or patterns, it doesn’t mean wear turbins or freakin robes, it basically means try ur best to live right, be kind to others, believe in ur heart that ur saved, and try and help others do the same. Islam and other religons are ritualistic…… like praying 5 times a day doen’t get you to heaven.
