I had never heard of this movement until I was in Kansas City, Missouri in April 08 and there was a group of women with signs. We ran up and hugged them and then found out about the movement!

Now I’m a HUGE Sick Puppies fan!!

“All the Same” is, for me, one of the musically BEST written songs ever! I never get tired of listening to it and it always brings a smile to my face. ROCKIN!

Notice in the thread, most of the idiots, suggest hey are kind caring free/tree huggers. However, if you slightly disagree with them, they get abusive. Proof, that this is all about them and the 5 seconds it makes them feel good. I have not even gone in to the dangers involved. One only has to Google. Where are the suggested guidlines Faq’s etc. Anyway, apologies to all, but Reaper, who wont understand the above discourse, go fuck yourself too and double it and no combacks or you tripple it 2u

LOL! So you Impose your point of view on me, which is, Im not to even “try” to Impose mine?
This is a ballanced media public forum (not Fox news) There has been nothing violent, threatening, racist or abusive. Just Points of views. Im my case I go out on to the street nigtly 365 to feed stray animals and I do some work with immigrants. (I say simply and only in responce to other comments)
My Point of view is these self serving people are idiots and doing this to make themselves feel better,

ps. people are deluded by the same false dilemma that provokes apathy every time: by doing one good thing, you cannot possibly find time to do any other good thing. for instance, if i fight racism i couldn’t possibly have time to support women’s rights. WRONG! why do we have to choose one over another? you can do however many good things you choose! as long as you’re doing something, i’m not going to complain about the specifics!

don’t discourage actions inspired by love. come on!

was looking at the responses earlier and i’ve gotten a habit of writing this: CHILL OUT!
it’s a guy giving hugs! he should continue and we should join him precisely because people would leave negative comments about it.

right said “kezza35″ i agree with u, this dude dont undertsnd the meaning of a hug, the idea is to help make someone that little bit happier when they are feeling down, not to rack up some score on howmany people they can hug who they dont no. the chances u would see that person again would be slim, but the chances that that hug made their day are high.

Nufin ‘funny’bout clowns.U only gota watch “IT” do realise that!
Let me ask u ‘blackdog’,when was the last time u were givin a hug?Whether it was ‘real’ or not?U see,a hug can calm the most savage of beasts.
I challenge U ‘blackdog’,to go & hug someone u dont know that looks as tho,to u,may need a hug. Then let me know if u think givin somethin back to another soul did nothin! I’ll be interested to know how ‘hollow’ u felt after doin somethin selfless for another human being too! :)

    Read my first post first.

If you want to really help people, the Red Cross, St Vincent de Paul and the salvation army all need volunteers, as do many other charities out there. If you want to make a real difference in someone’s life, then there’s a good place to start.

On the other side of the coin i personally find these people funny, like a juggler on the street, or a human statue, or my friend who runs up to a MX guy, grabs a paper and yells “MINE!” as he runs off.

Your not giving them this gift of a hug because you think that their a worthy human being. You don’t accept their faults and love them just the same.

To the giver of free hugs, the hugged is no more than a number. Another person that they can tick off on their tally sheet and make themselves feel good for ‘making a difference’.
