@UniversalTruths : The fact that you have to rely on fortification should be proof enough that humans cannot thrive on a vegan diet. We aren’t herbivores. Our digestive systems are completely different from them.
@peterpan2k : Well, another reason for supplementation would be people who have absorbtion problems. This tends to be more common in the elderly.
I would suggest having a spirulina it’s loaded with b12 and if you take it in the form of a green drink it will be rapidly absorbed.
@seline05 b12 is produced as a byproduct from a bacteria that lives in soil, which then resides in our intestines/colon and basically offgasses b12. If you are eating organic vegetables fresh from the ground (indicated by the fact that they still have some dirt/loose soil on them), then you are getting b12. That is how I get my b12, because that is where we are SUPPOSED to get b12 — microscopic traces of dirt with the b12 bacteria living in it.
Suppliments to be safe. But many cereals and soy/rice/almond milks are fortified with B12. You are likely to have better B12 levels on a Vegan diet with suppliments than a Meat and Dairy eater is.
i sent the mess b4 te end of the video where they give the ans
are there though much vegan foods with b vits? wiki only points to meat + dairy
A B-Complex will have all the B-12 you need, but you only need to take B-12 supplements if your diet does not naturally supply you with it.
what about vitamin b12 ? should i take supplements?
