Jordan Rubin’s entire library has me fascinated right now. He touched me with his concern for my health that goes beyond the compensation he receives for his work. He found a way to increase my awareness of how to “eat to live” rather that “living to eat.” I grew up in a family where we would discuss our next meal while eating the current meal. My entire family is composed of gourmet cooks. Food had a place on the pedestal in our home just below God. Jordan has a way of getting me to focus on other things besides food. For example, I spent more time doing his “personal hygiene” gig in the morning before breakfast rather than going straight to the kitchen after my quiet time. Even though it only takes a few minutes to clean my fingernails, face, etc., it gets my mind off breakfast and makes it seem less important. The Perfect Weight Journal has the same effect. It makes me acutely aware of my total daily input. I even learned I was practically eating a complete meal as I was over-tasting the food I was preparing for dinner. I like my new awareness the Perfect Weight Journal gives me of what goes into my mouth and how it is affecting my health and wellness. I set goals according to Jordan’s advice and the journal helps me keep them. Of course, I had to discipline myself to fill in the journal, which is another way Jordan makes me keenly aware of my eating habits. It is good stuff if you are serious about turning your warehouse into a temple.
