Ms. Cox does a great job of spelling out what it takes to achieve and maintain a healthy body. It’s an easy read (one sitting!) and so many of her “tips” have stuck with me….I have made several changes to our family’s eating habits since reading it – I think that this is a great resource not just for people wanting to lose weight, but for anyone who wishes for a healthier, longer life.

Before reading this book, I was always looking for the quick and easy ways to lose weight. Susan’s book was the answer I needed. Instead of “dieting”, I changed my eating habits for a healthier nutrition. It’s not complicated, and I look and feel so much better! Thank you for helping me and I would like to see a second book by Susan Cox of all her family’s favorite recipes.

If we want to read a book in perfect grammar and punctuation, we could read countless English and grammar books. Mrs. Cox’s book is easily followed, easy to remember when shopping for my family, and just plain common sense nutrition. Since most of us have heard the rhetoric time and time again and still don’t follow what “science” tells us to do anyway, it is refreshing to have a one on one coversation with her in this book. The entire time I was reading, I felt as if she was just having a simple, encouraging converation with me. Her book works! (oops another exclamation point). I have put these suggestions to task, and have lost over 30 pounds, without going on a “fad diet” which no one can survive on forever. Success wins in my book!

If you want the “how to’s” read the book, If you want to be inspired to make a change and take control, read the book. If you want research data go on line and look it up yourself. This book was meant to give the reader a simple but honest approach to healthy eating and living. Feel better, live longer, who can argue with that?

I am responding to Ms. Thibodeau’s review of Susan Cox’s excellent book on eating and staying healthy. It seems Ms Thibodeau is hung up on punctuation and thoroughly missed the point of “Food for Thought” – that being start by doing the simple things (eg: drink lots of water, eliminate the coffee creamers and move on from there.) The message is to eat wisely, live in good health and not be stressed out by punctuation marks!!
